Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven

Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven combines the most diverse media in complex installations. She draws, paints, stages performances, does computer animation and creates video installations. Together with fellow artist Danny Devos she founded the anarchist group Club Moral in 1981. Until 1993 they organized numerous events in Antwerp under the same name. From 1982 they also published a magazine, Force Mental.
Apart from these collaborations, self-organization and self-analysis are important elements in her work. She always strives to express herself with a great deal of honesty and directness. Her works are a combination of imagery and text. In order to achieve this, she uses the materials, means and tricks of the world of commercial graphics: Perspex, computers and professional prints.
