Collage artist Katrien De Blauwer
Artist Katrien De Blauwer calls herself a photographer without a camera.
Her work exists out of a serie of collages witch she creates from found magazine pictures and old used paper.
Without being the author of the photographs, De Blauwer gives another dimension to the images and integrates them to something new.
Katrien De Blauwer studied painting in Gent, later on she attended the Royal Academy in Antwerp to study fashion.
On this moment she created her first collagebooks, they where studies for fashion collections she created at the time.
Later on these first collages where an inspiration of what her work is today.
For De Blauwer, her work is as a language she speaks, its a reflection of her emotions and daily life.
Katrien De Blauwer recently presented her book Stills
The book comes with a Vinyl record with music of Danny Clay.
Stills is available at iikki-books
